Stoke City sign Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham Hotspur for £18m

Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer has joined Stoke in a deal worth £18 million.

Stoke will pay £15m up front for the Austria international, who has signed a five-year deal at the the bet365 stadium, with a further £3m due in add-ons.

Wimmer said his goodbyes to the Spurs players and staff after Sunday's 1-1 draw against Burnley at Wembley, before undergoing a medical at Stoke on Monday.

Stoke City are closing in on a deal for Tottenham centre-half Kevin Wimmer, a source close to the London club has told ESPN FC.

Wimmer said his goodbyes to the Spurs players and staff after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Burnley, for which he was omitted from the matchday squad, and the Austrian left Wembley to travel to Stoke, who will pay £15 million for him.

West Brom also had a £15m bid accepted for Wimmer last week, but he turned down the chance to join the Baggies.
