Roma can redeem themselves, make a statement at the San Siro vs. AC Milan

On Sunday, Roma travel to the San Siro with a chance to show the rest of Serie A that they're for real and a team to be reckoned with. When Eusebio Di Francesco revealed on Friday that Alessandro Florenzi will start against Hellas Verona it signalled the end of an 11-month injury nightmare for the Roma all-rounder, and alongside a probable debut start for fellow returning Roman Lorenzo Pellegrini, will give the Giallorossi a bit of local flavour that Roma fans have always liked to have in their side.

Florenzi's almost year-long layoff means that his return to the team makes him one of football's oldest cliches -- the...

Roma's Alessandro Florenzi set to miss rest of season through injury

Alessandro Florenzi will miss the rest of the Serie A season because of injury.
Alessandro Florenzi has made over 100 appearances for hometown club Roma.

Roma have confirmed that Alessandro Florenzi's season is over after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee he first injured last October.

Tests on the cruciate ligament he tore four months ago, and which had been causing him problems on his return to training this week, confirmed that another operation is necessary.

An awkward movement in training on Tuesday saw the 25-year-old once again damage the ligaments in his left knee which he tore during the Giallorossi's Serie A 3-1 win at...

Roma and Lazio set for intriguing Derby della Capitale top-of-table clash

Lazio, left, and Roma teams observe a minute of silence to honor long-time coach and player Cesare Maldini, prior to a Serie A soccer match at Rome's Olympic stadium, Sunday, April 3, 2016. AC Milan has announced the death of long-time coach and player Ce
In the last installment of the Derby della Capitale back in April, Roma comfortably beat Lazio by a score of 4-1.

"I've been waiting for this game ever since I got the Lazio job," Simone Inzaghi confessed. It's easy to imagine when the fixture list was published in those last days of summer that the first date he circled on his office calendar was Sunday, Dec. 4: Derby day in the Eternal City.

It's the first game both managers look out for on either side of this rivalry because very often in the history of the Derby della Capitale it decides whether their season has been a success or failure. Inzaghi...
