Wales' Hal Robson-Kanu announces international retirement

Wales striker Hal Robson-Kanu has announced his retirement from international football to focus on his club career, the West Bromwich Albion player said in a statement on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old forward, who won 44 caps and scored five times for Wales, will be remembered for his goal in the Euro 2016 quarterfinals when he stunned the Belgium defence with a Cruyff turn before firing past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

"I have made the decision to retire from international football," said Robson-Kanu,...

West Brom lose appeal against Hal Robson-Kanu red card

Hal Robson-Kanu was sent off for an elbow to Matt Lowton.

West Brom have lost their appeal against the red card Hal Robson-Kanu received at the weekend.

The 28-year-old Wales international striker was shown a straight red card late on in his side's 1-0 Premier League victory against Burnley at Turf Moor following an aerial challenge with home defender Matt Lowton.

Albion contested the decision on the ground of wrongful dismissal but an FA Commission has upheld the decision and Robson-Kanu will now serve a three-match suspension.

Hal Robson-Kanu: Elbow that drew red card was not intentional

West Brom's match-winner Hal Robson-Kanu claimed there was no intent to elbow Matthew Lowton in an incident that saw him dismissed in the 1-0 victory over Burnley.

The Wales international became just the fourth player in Premier League history to come off the bench, score and be sent off in a lively 20-minute cameo at Turf Moor.

His dismissal came seven minutes from time when the upper part of his forearm caught Lowton in the head as Robson-Kanu attempted to challenge him for a header in the air,...

West Brom blanked in loss to Southampton, continue week-long skid

A run of three games in a week ended with West Brom succumbing to a 1-0 loss against Southampton at The Hawthorns on Saturday, meaning that Tony Pulis' side failed to score in any of their three games in that week-long period.

After a tremendous run of home form, West Brom has lost two of its past three fixtures at The Hawthorns, which suggests that teams may now have a game plan in place to combat the main threats of Pulis' team.

Exhausted West Brom crash back to earth in 2-0 defeat to Watford

After a tremendous rear-guard action at Old Trafford to earn a 0-0 draw, West Brom were brought back down to earth with a crash as they put in a lacklustre performance in a 2-0 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday.

Tony Pulis' side appeared to be exhausted both mentally and physically, with some uncharacteristically poor defensive play allowing Watford a couple of opportunities they took full advantage of.

Jonny Evans, West Brom's organised defence stifles Manchester United

West Brom put in a defensive masterclass against Manchester United at Old Trafford to secure a 0-0 draw. While Jose Mourinho criticised West Brom after the game, there will surely be a part of him that, begrudgingly, respected the discipline and organisation of the defensive effort put in by Tony Pulis' side. It was a fantastic start to a week which contains three fixtures, that could potentially take West Brom to their record Premier League tally.
