Andre Blake of Philadelphia Union wins MLS Goalkeeper of the Year

Andre Blake of the Philadelphia Union was named Major League Soccer's Goalkeeper of the Year on Thursday.

With an average of 24 percent of the vote, Blake, 25, beat out the New York Red Bulls' Luis Robles (14 percent) and the Colorado Rapids' Tim Howard (13 percent).

Blake was the No. 1 pick in the MLS SuperDraft in 2014 but only won the starting job this season.

He started 32 games and helped the Union reach the playoffs while securing six clean sheets.

Blake also became Jamaica's starting goalkeeper this year, starting all of the Reggae Boyz's games at the Copa America this summer.
