Perth Glory re-sign A-League player of the season Diego Castro

Perth Glory have re-signed the A-League's player of the season, Diego Castro, for the 2016-17 campaign.

The Spanish winger who scored 13 goals last season, went on to be named the A-League's player of the year and has signed on to stay with the club for the 2016-17 season.

"After the year we've just had, I feel we have a lot of unfinished business at Perth Glory and I want to win a championship," Castro said.

"Nothing more would make me happy than to be part of a revitalised team that's ready to hit the ground running and go all the way and win our first premiership and championship."

Castro also swept the club's awards night earlier this year, picking up five awards including Most Glorious Player and Players' Player of the Year.

The Glory have also confirmed they have re-signed 34-year-old captain Richard Garcia, who will also take up a mentoring role in the club.
