Thomas Tuchel can 'coach any side in the world' - Man City's Ilkay Gundogan

Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan has praised former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, who is Paris Saint-Germain's leading candidate to replace Unai Emery at the end of this season.

The Germany international, who played under Tuchel for one season before leaving for City, rates his old boss highly, and sources have told ESPN FC that Tuchel heads PSG's coaching shortlist.

Speaking to Le Parisien, Gundogan believes Tuchel, 44, is capable of leading any side.

"Thomas has the potential to coach any side in the world," Gundogan said. "I am a huge fan. He took me to new heights.

"Thomas is a perfectionist and he is very demanding. He has the qualities to get the best out of each and every player -- especially thanks to his fanatical attention to detail. Thomas' speeches are sometimes so poignant that he gets his players to push their limits."

Emery, out of contract this summer, is expected to see out the season and said on Wednesday that talks with PSG could take place in the coming weeks.

However, Thomas Meunier suggested that the players know Emery is on his way out, and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has praised Tuchel.

According to Sport1, despite reports that Trapp has agreed a three-year contract with Dortmund, he is waiting to see if Tuchel is appointed as Emery's replacement before making a decision.
