PARIS -- A "happy" Edinson Cavani wants to remain at Paris-Saint Germain amid rumours he could be on the move this summer.
Cavani scored two goals for PSG in their Coupe de la Lige final victory over Monaco on Saturday and expressed his hope that the trophy is not among the final pieces of silverware that he will win with the French capital club.
Speaking after the final whistle in Bordeaux, the 31-year-old Uruguay international made his future intentions clear.
"I am very happy to be here," Cavani said. "I have been with PSG for five years -- a significant part of my career.
"The important thing is to deliver, along with my teammates, trophies for the club. I hope that this love story will continue. In any event, I will give everything, the maximum, until the final day.
"I want to stay, and I think that this is a normal feeling. However, we will see, I hope to stay. Sometimes, though, you never know what will happen."
Meanwhile, Monaco midfieldfer Fabinho played down recent links with PSG and insisted he currently has no offers on the table from other European sides.
The Brazil international was part of the team that lost 3-0 to PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue final and speculation flared up again ahead of the clash suggesting that he was close to arranging a summer move to the Parc des Princes.
Speaking with Globo Esporte, Fabinho rejected the idea and stated that if offers are made, he and his agent will sit down with the principality outfit to discuss them.
"To tell the truth, I have not been in contact with any team," said the 24-year-old. "Nobody has expressed an interest yet and it is not an issue for me at the moment.
"I am focused on finishing this season well with Monaco and when the time comes, we will sit down with the club and if there are offers to listen to, then we will listen to them."
PSG playmaker Javier Pastore, who was a second-half substitute in the match, wasn't as hopeful as Cavani over his PSG future, and said if he's to stay past the end of the season, he wants to know that any potential new coach -- Thomas Tuchel or otherwise -- rates him and will use him.
"I am thinking about playing and winning titles, this is not the time for transfer talk," said the Argentina international. "It is unknown. I have a year left on my contract. We will see.
"We will speak with the club and see what they have in mind for me. We will decide at the end of the season, but not now.
"The importance of a change in coach? I do not know. It is not only up to the coach. It is also up to the club and what they want from me -- if they want me to stay or go. A thorough discussion is needed.
"If a new coach comes, then I want to know what they think of me. I need things to be clear."
PSG are back in Ligue 1 action away at rejuvenated Saint-Etienne on Friday, before hosting Monaco the following Sunday as Unai Emery's men edge closer to taking back the Championnat crown from Leonardo Jardim's side.
