PSG star Neymar discusses metatarsal injury with Man City's Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar has been in touch to learn more about the recovery period from a fractured metatarsal.

Jesus, 20, suffered the injury early last year and his Brazil international teammate succumbed to the same fate last month.

Neymar has since undergone surgery on the fifth metatarsal in his right foot and is now recovering in Brazil.

And Jesus explained that PSG's No. 10 wanted to know more about the rehabilitation process.

"Neymar sent me a message right after his injury," the City man said via UOL Esporte. "I told him how I felt and how my recovery was -- he is a fighter, and everything is going to be fine."

Jesus conceded the hardest part of recovering from a fractured metatarsal is learning how to play again without any fear of the injury returning and the former Palmeiras star admitted he is still a bit apprehensive.

"When you are in the match, without wanting it, you end up thinking about the previous game where you got injured, you have a bit of fear," Jesus added.

"I think I still played with some fear, there is still have some worries about getting injured again.

"I know anything can happen, but I am sure that the more you play, the quicker that fear is going to go away."

PSG's Champions League round-of-16 exit to Real Madrid last week has created a new wave of speculation that Neymar will leave the Ligue 1 leaders this summer.

According to reports from TF1 television show Telefoot, PSG chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Antero Henrique are preparing to fly to Brazil to visit Neymar at his recuperation base in Mangaratiba, close to Rio de Janeiro, to check on his progress.

While there, they will speak with the player to discuss a plan of action for next season.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Al-Khelaifi is giving consideration to Chelsea's Antonio Conte and Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino, with coach Unai Emery expected to leave this summer.
