Kylian Mbappe and Neymar among PSG absentees for cup clash

PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain will be without Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Marco Verratti and Dani Alves for the Coupe de France round-of-32 clash with Guingamp at Parc des Princes after all four were not named in coach Unai Emery's 18-man squad for the match.

Mbappe, who was forced off before half time during PSG's 2-1 Ligue 1 loss away at Lyon last Sunday after a collision with goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, is not yet sufficiently recovered from his head injury sustained at Groupama Stadium.

According to the club's official medical update: "48 hours after his collision with Lyon goalkeeper Lopes, Kylian is still suffering from multiple bruises and swelling. However, various tests have revealed no trauma."

Neymar is yet to recover from his right thigh problem and the Brazilian superstar was unable to train on Tuesday after struggling to complete Monday's session.

"Neymar did not train with his PSG teammates today," a club update read. "He is still suffering from his right thigh issue."

Meanwhile, Thiago Motta is continuing to work his way back to full fitness and has not featured since the last round of the Coupe de France away at Rennes.

"Thiago is doing specific work designed to aid his return to fitness," PSG clarified after naming the squad.

Alves is suspended after his red card away at Lyon in Ligue 1 last weekend, while Marco Verratti has been rested.

Lucas Moura has received a rare call-up and could make his last PSG appearance, while Stanley N'Soki and Alec Georgen have moved up from the reserves.

Hatem Ben Arfa remains an outcast and has not been included in the squad, while third goalkeeper Sebastien Cibois did not make the cut.
