Roberto Mancini says he'd be interested in PSG job

Mancini woe vs Lazio 160501
Roberto Mancini has expressed his fondness for PSG.

Roberto Mancini is interested in coaching Paris Saint-Germain in the future, the Zenit St Petersburg boss has told L'Equipe.

PSG, currently led by Unai Emery, are 11 points clear of Lyon at the top of the Ligue 1 table and progressing well across all competitions -- domestic and continental -- but as the Italian tactician told the French publication, "one day can change everything" in modern football.

"Yes, I would like to coach PSG," said Mancini. "Why not, if it is possible? They have a good coach [Emery], who is doing a good job, but in football, one single day can change everything.

"PSG are the best team in Ligue 1. They are also one of the best in the world. They have signed Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. They have a good chance of winning the Champions League now.

"Playing Real Madrid is always difficult but I think that they stand a good chance of doing it this year.

"PSG, at this moment, are like Real, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. These teams are at the same level, with good players and they have developed good styles of play."

Mancini has his current side Zenit second in the Russian Premier League, eight points behind leaders Lokomotiv Moscow.

Despite his desire to sit in the Parc des Princes hot seat in the future, the former Man City and Inter Milan coach denied there has ever been any contact -- even when Carlo Ancelotti left back in 2013.

"PSG interest [in me]? Never," Mancini said. "Not recently and not before -- I have never spoken with PSG."

Next up for PSG after their 8-0 annihilation of Dijon is a trip to Lyon's Groupama Stadium in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
