Unai Emery: No Paris Saint-Germain documents taken in flat burglary

PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery and his wife were burgled during the 4-2 Coupe de la Ligue defeat of Strasbourg on Wednesday, but he has played down reports that official club documents were among the stolen items.

Le Point reported on Thursday that a number of valuables had been stolen from Emery's seventh floor apartment in Paris, with a number of Neymar shirts among the items taken. Le Point also claimed that documents related to Emery's salary and potential future transfers had also disappeared.

RMC Sport contradicted Le Point later on Thursday by reporting that no official PSG documents were among the stolen items, but that Neymar shirts had been among the things taken, as well as a €7,000 Rolex watch, a bracelet and some Chanel bags.

Emery also quashed Le Point's report during his prematch news conference on Friday ahead of this weekend's trip to face Stade Rennes.

"This is private -- it does not need to come out [publicly]," he told reporters. "However, I can specify that there were no stolen documents regarding the team or any of our players."

Ahead of the trip to Rennes, Emery confirmed that Neymar is back in Paris training and ready to feature against the Breton outfit on Saturday. Emery does not fear any potential injury after the forward recently returned to Brazil for family reasons.

"Neymar immediately brings us more respect when he is on the pitch with us," Emery said. "He is back from Brazil, he is fine and should be available for Rennes.

"Neymar is used to travelling, he does it a lot when on international duty. I think he is fine, physically. He trained well on Thursday and everything is normal. I do not think that there is any risk of injury."

Meanwhile, Emery hinted that captain Thiago Silva, midfielder Thiago Motta and left back Layvin Kurzawa could return at Rennes after returning to full squad training on Thursday.

"We will wait for the final training session to see how everyone is one more time," he said. "On Thursday, Thiago, Thiago and Layvin all trained as normal. If that is the case in the final pre-Rennes session, they could be in the squad."

After Rennes, PSG have Caen left in Ligue 1 before the players travel to Doha, Qatar, for their customary winter tour and then join their families on holiday until early January.
