PSG's Marco Verratti suspended three matches, out vs. Saint-Etienne

PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has been suspended three matches for his red card against Toulouse and will serve the first of those games against Saint-Etienne on Friday.

PSG will also be without attacker Lucas Moura for the Ligue 1 match as the team announced its list of players for the clash on Thursday.

The Italy international is suspended after picking up two bookings in the 6-2 thrashing of Toulouse last Sunday, while the Brazilian has not featured competitively so far this season because of an ankle injury.

Speaking at his prematch news conference on Wednesday, coach Unai Emery confirmed that Lucas would not be fit enough to feature at Parc des Princes and acknowledged that Verratti must continue to work on his temperament.

Serge Aurier, Hatem Ben Arfa and Grzegorz Krychowiak will also miss out against Saint-Etienne after Emery opted to leave them out of his 19-man squad.

All three are expected to leave PSG before the end of the transfer window, after being told that they have no future in the French capital.

Youngsters Antoine Bernede, Lorenzo Callegari, Remy Descamps, Moussa Diaby, Odsonne Edouard and Alec Georgen also did not make the cut.

Goncalo Guedes was included in Emery's group, with a season-long loan move to Valencia CF a possibility. However, he -- like Lucas -- could end up joining AS Monaco as part of a proposed double swoop for Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho.
