Unai Emery '200 percent certain' to remain PSG boss - Nasser Al-Khelaifi

PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed coach Unai Emery will remain in charge of the club next season.

PSG struggled to break down a resolute Angers side on Saturday, and needed an Issa Cissokho own goal in added time to win their 11th Coupe de France title to become the most successful club in the competition's history.

Les Parisiens' campaign, however, has been viewed by many as a failure after AS Monaco won the Ligue 1 title, but the Qatari supremo still believes in the former Sevilla tactician.

"I have always said he will remain in charge," Al-Khelaifi told journalists in the Stade de France mixed zone after a 1-0 win over Angers SCO secured a record 11th Coupe de France title.

"It is 200 percent certain he will stay in place.

"We are happy with him and he is happy to be here. We want to work together next season. We are going to change some things moving forward but this is not the time to talk about that.

"There will be changes. We want to enjoy this title, which has been well deserved after a difficult campaign."

Al-Khelaifi also revealed that recent reports of a new sporting director are not inaccurate but that nothing will be communicated on that topic until next week.

"A new sporting director will not be named tonight but we will reflect over the next week," he said.

Emery is also convinced his future remains at Parc des Princes and pointed out that he is only one year into a two-year contract.

"My conversations with the president have always been based around the idea of continuing our work next season and into the future," Emery told Eurosport post-match.

"Also, I have one year left on my contract and I am happy here.

"I believe this team can develop and with the desire of the players and the president, we can improve things. There are many good players in this team and they will enable us to keep making progress.

"I want to continue in this job and feel confident because it is very important."

Unai Emery
Unai Emery's position as PSG manager has been questioned after a less-than-stellar first season at the club.

Maxwell played his final game as a PSG player and is set to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks. Whatever he decides, he will not be leaving the world of football.

"I think I will decide over the next two weeks," the veteran Brazilian left back told Eurosport.

"We have some celebrating to do and then there will be time to reflect and decide what is best for me and my family. We will see what happens.

"Will I remain in football? Of course, it is what I have known all of my life and that will continue. It is a sport that I love, it is my passion and with all of my experience, I will remain in this game."
