PSG must put Barcelona win behind them vs. Marseille - Kevin Trapp

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has stressed that he and his teammates must put their recent flawless 4-0 demolition of Barcelona in the UEFA Champions league behind them if they are emerge victorious in Le Classique away at Marseille on Sunday.

Unai Emery's men currently trail Ligue 1 leaders Monaco by three points but must travel to Stade Velodrome without supporters at the weekend and emerge with three precious points to keep them in the hunt at Le Championnat's summit.

Speaking with PSG's official website, Trapp admitted PSG were exceptional against Barcelona but that the squad cannot already be thinking about the return leg at Camp Nou in early March with such important fixtures coming up.

"That night was perfect," the German shot-stopper acknowledged. "I re-watched the match and there is not much to say. Everything worked out and we did everything to win it.

"No-one expected us to win 4-0 or that their front three would not get a single shot on target. It proves that we worked well and defended. Against Barcelona, you have to play the perfect match.

"We cannot afford to start thinking about the return leg just yet -- we have several big matches before we head to the Camp Nou, like Sunday's match against Marseille and a trip to Niort in the Coupe de France. The biggest mistake we could make would be to focus on Barcelona at this point."

Trapp feels at home with Les Parisiens and knows the importance of beating Marseille. However, the 26-year-old also pointed out that it will not be an easy task to beat Les Phoceens in their own backyard.

"It is a very special match," Trapp said. "I know this, I am an adopted Parisian and I know what it represents.

"We are playing away from home, and it will not be easy -- it is the Classico, which is always a very special match.

"It is not just about the three points -- we know it is important to our fans and that they will be overjoyed to see us get the win."

Trapp endeared himself to the Parc des Princes faithful last season by saving a penalty against OM and the man from Merzig admitted he cherishes that souvenir.

"Yes, that is a good memory," said Trapp. "It was a tight match but we ended up winning 2-1. They were awarded a penalty but I saved it.

"It was important for me and for the team that I stopped that spot-kick. I do not know whether it was the turning point in the match but it did help us to win.

"We are hoping for a similar result on Sunday -- all that counts is victory."

PSG passed up a golden opportunity to close the gap on Monaco by drawing 0-0 at home to Toulouse last Sunday and the men from the capital will be hoping Guingamp can do them a favour ahead of their clash with Marseille.
