Goncalo Guedes' addition to PSG pleases Unai Emery ahead of Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery is pleased with Goncalo Guedes' integration into the French champions' squad after he completed his move from Benfica earlier this week.

The Portugal international has been training with his teammates for the past few days and the Spaniard admitted he has been an easy fit with the rest of his players.

"He has fit in well with the rest of the dressing room," Emery told journalists at a prematch news conference ahead of Sunday's Ligue 1 showdown clash with Monaco. "He is young but he also has experience. He has arrived from a great team and he is hungry.

"He has high standards. He has decided he wants to develop in Paris, where there is a large Portuguese community."

Looking ahead to PSG's meeting with an insatiable Monaco side, who top Ligue 1 and lead the men from the capital by three points, Emery admitted organisation will be key.

"They are a great team with great players," said the Basque tactician. "They are full of confidence. They are able to keep possession and are good at switching from defence to attack. They know how to exploit the weaknesses of their opponents.

"We will have to play well, stay compact and be able to press our opponents. It is an interesting match to play. They are good at set pieces.

"They have a lot of qualities and we have prepared accordingly. We will need to stay strong mentally. We will be at home, we will have to handle our emotions well."

Emery remembers Monaco from his first competitive defeat as PSG coach earlier this season and the 45-year-old recalled the experience.

However, the former Sevilla boss is expecting much better from his players after a lot of progress over the past few months.

"They caused us problems down there and we work every day on the good and bad things we do," Emry said. "It is important to continually want to improve.

"Things are different today. We have improved since that game, and it will be a completely different match tomorrow. Every game is good to play in to try and improve."

A win for PSG will move them level on points with Leonardo Jardim's insatiable side at the summit of Le Championnat.

However, a draw or a defeat could prove extremely costly in an unexpectedly tight race for the French title so far.
