PSG's Kluivert promises January signings: 'Players will be arriving'

Paris Saint-Germain director of football Patrick Kluivert has promised that the French champions will make some signings in the January transfer window.

The former Netherlands international watched Unai Emery's men battle back from two goals down at home to OGC Nice on Sunday to salvage a 2-2 draw at Parc des Princes in Ligue 1.

Speaking with journalists in the mixed zone after the final whistle, in the absence of PSG's players, Kluivert confirmed "we are working on something" but that it is not a central defender.

"Central defence is not a priority of ours but we have other pressing needs," the 40-year-old added. "Nothing is certain today. It is important to review our team again before focusing on our needs and making decisions. Players will be arriving."

Kluivert's priority for January is thought to be a striker to be backup for the in-form Edinson Cavani, with Lucas Alario one of a number of names to have been linked with a move to Paris recently. The player's agent has even confirmed contact with the PSG man regarding a potential switch.
