PSG captain Thiago Silva has had no contact from Juventus - agent

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has not been in contact with Juventus, according to his agent, as the Brazil international's proposed contract extension with the French champions takes time to come to fruition.

Silva, 32, is out of contract next summer but that deal will be extended by one year until June of 2018 in the likely event PSG qualify for the UEFA Champions League again.

The Ligue 1 giants intend to prolong the defender's stay at Parc des Princes but are yet to put forward a proposal. Meanwhile, Silva has attracted plenty of interest from across Europe and his representative Paulo Tonietto says "the situation will be clearer in December."

Speaking with Il Messaggero's Fantagazzetta in Italy, Tonietto confirmed "there are no on-going discussions (with any club), at least for now. We will see what happens in the next month."

He added: "Right now, there has been no substantial change in the situation. He has a contract with PSG until next June, which renews automatically until 2018 if they qualify for the Champions League. For the moment, he is concentrated on helping his team meet their objectives.

"It is normal that a player of his stature interests and has the attention of the biggest clubs. I want to emphasise, though, there is nothing concrete with any of these clubs."

Italian champions Juventus have been heavily linked with Silva, but Tonietto insists he has not been in negotiations.

"Nobody from that club has contacted me," he said. "We cannot rule anything out in the future but this is the situation for now."

Chelsea, now under Antonio Conte's leadership, have also been linked with a move for Silva to bolster their defence. Tonietto did not confirm the London giants' interest but had positive things to say about the Blues.

"Regarding Chelsea, I am not surprised he is of interest to the best clubs at the highest level," he said. "I would be surprised if it was the contrary. Chelsea are, without a doubt, a big club."
