Paris Saint-Germain's Javier Pastore criticises 'untrue' reports on calf injury

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore has played down fears over the extent of his calf injury by calling reports on the severity of the problem "untrue."

Le Parisien reported on Wednesday that Pastore, 27, has been in Madrid since the start of the week as part of a new programme designed to help him overcome a recurring calf problem.

The article also claimed the Argentina international would be returning to Paris at the end of the week, is in touch with specialists in an effort to make a breakthrough in his recovery and could miss anywhere between the next five weeks and the rest of 2016 with the injury.

Le Parisien added that Pastore must learn to correct his posture and wear orthopaedic soles in order to make his calves less fragile.

However, Pastore swiftly took to Twitter to deny the reports and criticise the inaccuracy of the article.

"This information is untrue!!!!" Pastore wrote. "Always speaking of bad things, without knowledge."

It is unclear exactly how much longer Pastore will be out of action for but he has only made four Ligue 1 appearances so far this season, with three of those coming from the start.

Pastore has been dogged by injuries in the past few seasons and faces added competition for a place in coach Unai Emery's plans with Giovani Lo Celso set to join PSG in January from Rosario Central after signing in the summer.
