Paris Saint-Germain not happy after Toulouse loss - Patrick Kluivert

Paris Saint-Germain director of football Patrick Kluivert has admitted the French champions are not happy after their surprise 2-0 defeat away at Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Friday, and that the players' reaction is "quite normal."

The former Netherlands international saw Unai Emery's men go down to a Yann Bodiger penalty and a Jimmy Durmaz finish after mistake from substitute Thiago Motta. The 40-year-old lamented a sloppy display from Les Parisiens.

"We lost the ball a lot and many players were unable to get into the game," Kluivert told Goal France after the match. "When you don't take your chances, it is difficult. Toulouse played very well but it is up to us to give everything and we did not here.

"It is a pity here but on Wednesday, we have a very important match against Ludogorets and we must react to this. That is the most important thing. We must behave differently in the Champions League."

Emery was disappointed by the result, but felt that Serge Aurier's red card and conceded penalty at the start of the second half changed things irreparably for PSG.

"The two halves were very different this evening," the Spaniard told the capital club's official website. "We had a very good first half without being able to score. Despite that, there were some good things from the first half.

"After the break, the first piece of action changed the game. It was the key to the match. The red card and penalty changed everything. We knew that it was important to win with a view to Wednesday's game at Ludogorets. Now, the important thing for us is to get back to winning ways."

Toulouse-born PSG midfielder, Blaise Matuidi, paid tribute to their hosts but refused to press the panic button.

"Bravo to Toulouse, they played how they had to to beat us," Matuidi said to Canal+. "We played well in the first half. The turning point of the game was the penalty and the sending-off. With 10 men, it was more difficult.

"We are going to keep working. It is long, 38 games. This evening it was not a great Paris on show. The red card and the penalty contributed greatly to that. Each season it is tough. This year even more so than previously. We must not worry, and just get back to work."

PSG travel to Bulgaria to take on Ludogorets in the Champions League next Wednesday before hosting Girondins de Bordeaux in Ligue 1 on the Saturday.
