Paris Saint-Germain forced to pay fans €30,000 for ticket cancellations

Paris Saint-Germain have been sentenced to pay 15 of their own supporters almost €30,000 by the district court for the 16th arrondissement.

Back in February of 2014, the fans had tickets for PSG's away clashes with AS Monaco in Ligue 1 and Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League located in the PSG sections of the stadiums.

Those tickets were cancelled without warning or justification from the French champions and having seen the dispute put under advisement back in March of this year, the tribunal has found in favour of the disgruntled supporters.

The fans, represented by Association de Defense et d'Assistance Juridique des Interets des Supporters (ADAJIS), will receive close to €30,000 in total after the tribunal ruled that PSG did not have legitimate reasons to prevent the supporters from travelling to Germany or the principality.

According to the court, the contract between the fans who bought tickets and PSG was "broken without justification and therefore in an abusive manner."

The capital club's defense mainly related to long-standing problems with fans, notably a number of bans introduced before the arrival of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), and incidents involving supporters that had not been dealt with by the authorities in the past.

The 15 fans in question, represented by ADAJIS, will be reimbursed travel expenses, as well as €300 in damages and interest and €1500 for the cost of defence.

The fans later posted a tweet to confirming the news and celebrating their victory.
