Luis Fernandez makes up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over PSG comments

Former Paris Saint-Germain player and manager Luis Fernandez has said that he has made up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic after meeting the striker at a club charity event.

Fernandez was one of a number of ex-players who took exception to Ibrahimovic's assertion that PSG had only been "born" when Qatari investors took over in 2011.

The 56-year-old -- who led PSG to the European Cup semi-finals in 1995 and Cup Winners Cup success in 1996 -- had pointed out that the Swede had been brought to the club to win the Champions League.

But on Wednesday the ex-France international revealed on his radio show on RMC that he had cleared the air with Ibrahimovic, 34, after getting the chance to discuss the comments this week.

"I congratulated him on his latest league title. For a club that was born four years ago, it's magnificent," Fernandez joked.

"In relation to his statement, he told me that it was maybe badly formulated but that he didn't lack respect for the history of PSG.

"He was in his role [when he made the comments] -- it's Zlatan. It's a character.

"But in private, he's completely different to what he shows on the pitch or on a stage. He's approachable to discuss things."

Ibrahimovic had followed up his comments by scoring in PSG's Champions League last 16 win over Chelsea.

He then netted four times in the 9-0 victory over Troyes that saw them seal a fourth French league title in a row.
