Paris Saint-Germain wrong to let Kingsley Coman go - Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho says it is a "shame" that Kingsley Coman had to leave his former club Paris Saint-Germain before being given the chance to "express" his talent.

Coman, 19, signed a five-year deal with Juventus in July 2014 after making just three substitute appearances for PSG.

Having featured 14 times in Serie A during his first campaign in Italy, the winger has now scored twice in the Bundesliga this season in a promising start to an initial two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich.

Shortly after leaving the Ligue 1 club, Coman complained that young players are given little chance to impress in the French capital, and Sakho -- also a PSG academy graduate -- has echoed those comments.

"I think it's a shame for Paris," he told Canal+. "He's a quality player who was there, in Paris, who was not given his chance."

Sakho, 25, came through the ranks at PSG to become the club's youngest ever captain at the age of 17 in 2007.

But the France international saw his playing time reduced when Qatar Sports Investments took over in 2011 and brought in players like current club captain Thiago Silva and former Chelsea defender Alex.

Sakho felt the need to leave for England as a result, and while he says he respects PSG's policy, he does not appear to like it.

He said: "When I see a young talent like that who can't emerge, to express himself in his city -- and it's a source of pride for all the supporters to see a kid from their home town able to play in PSG colours -- it's a pity."

Coman, who last week said Bayern felt like "a family," could be set for a spell on the sidelines. He went off with a thigh injury after 23 minutes of France under-21's game against Scotland on Saturday.
