Laurent Blanc rues PSG's many missed chances after draw at Reims

Paris-Saint Germain manager Laurent Blanc rued his side's missed chances and admitted they nearly lost after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Reims.

PSG remained unbeaten in their opening six matches but could not earn all three points despite dominating possession and creating more chances.

Reims even looked set to inflict a first defeat of the season on the champions when teenager Theoson Siebatcheu fired into the bottom corner in the 83rd minute.

But just over a minute later substitute Edinson Cavani finished neatly for his sixth goal in four matches to level the score.

"Tonight we lacked just one extra goal. We needed to take our chances because we had several dangerous situations. But we didn't. And we could even have lost this match," Blanc said.

"We dominated the match, but our finishing was too poor to kill off Reims' hopes. We kept them in the match. It's our own fault."

PSG have four wins and two draws in Ligue 1 despite playing the majority of their games away from home.

"It's week six of the season, including four away matches, and we're still undefeated," Blanc said. "We will take this point, even if we're not satisfied with it."

Javier Pastore, who provided the assist on Cavani's goal, said playing on Tuesday in the Champions League may have made a difference in PSG's troubles on Saturday.

"We played very well, we created a lot more chances than our opponent and had most of the ball. We were only missing the goals," he said.

"It's never easy after a Champions League. But it's a good point. We didn't lose. You know that there's an opponent and we're not playing by ourselves.

"We aren't going to win every match we play."
