Angel Di Maria, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti to miss PSG game

Angel Di Maria, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti will all be missing from the Paris Saint-Germain side as the French champions bid to maintain their 100 percent start to the Ligue 1 season at struggling Montpellier on Friday.

The trio were all absent when PSG boss Laurent Blanc named his squad to travel south as PSG seek a third successive victory to strengthen their grip on top spot in the table.

Di Maria, who recently joined from Manchester United for €63 million, is still recovering from a thigh injury sustained while on international duty with Argentina at the Copa America.

Verratti, who started both of PSG's league games to date, has a hip injury, while Ibrahimovic twisted his right knee during the Trophee des Champions encounter with Lyon in early August and has not featured since.

The Sweden captain's PSG teammate and close friend, Maxwell, believes the forward, who missed six league games last season with a niggling heel problem and had other minor injuries, will shrug off his latest setback.

"It's a problem for all of us, him most of all," the Brazil full-back said. "He had a difficult season in physical terms last season. He came back in peak shape. He was very light, motivated, and now he has another little problem.

"But he has the experience to come back as quickly and as strongly as possible. He's still very strong mentally, he's competitive, so he is working a lot to come back as soon as possible without taking risks."
