PSG players target Champions League in next trophy haul after Treble

Paris Saint-Germain's players are targeting even more trophies next year after completing a domestic Treble with the Coupe de France title on Saturday.

PSG defeated Auxerre 1-0 to add the cup to the Ligue 1 and Coupe de la Ligue titles won earlier in 2015, but goal scorer Edinson Cavani said there's one more honour he wants to win in 2016.

"It has been a huge season -- historic for the players the club and the city of Paris. It's a huge joy," Cavani said. "We've made progress since last season because we've won one extra trophy. We're on the right track.

"Now all that's left is for us to win the most prestigious and toughest to win competition: the Champions League."

PSG also opened the season in Beijing by winning the Trophée des Champions, which pits the previous year's Ligue 1 winners against the Coupe de France winners. As the winners of both trophies this year, PSG will face Ligue 1 runners-up this summer in Montreal.

Defender David Luiz said he wants to keep the same squad together for any run at trophies next season.

"It's never easy to win a trophy, and we've won four of them," Luiz said. "It's really an extraordinary pleasure to play for this familial and humane club. I hope that everyone will still be here next season, because we have a fantastic squad.

"We need to have even more ambition -- the ambition to keep ourselves at the highest level -- and now of course we're dreaming of winning the Champions League. I think we're on the right track."

Star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said he was glad to enter the offseason with another trophy but said his cabinet is not yet full.

"You can't do better than this; we've won everything in France," he told France 2. "We're proud! It was a long season. We're a bit tired, but we have achieved what no-one before us has achieved. An extra trophy next season? Yes. I want more trophies!"

Manager Laurent Blanc gave credit to Auxerre for keeping the game close, even after Cavani opened the scoring in the 64th minute.

"What a great end to the season! We wanted this cup, and we won it. It was tough. Auxerre played well, showing some incredible qualities," Blanc said. "In the end, only the result counts, but both teams can be happy tonight."
