PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi aims high after winning Ligue 1 title

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi expressed his delight after the team clinched the Ligue 1 title and set his sights on future Champions League success.

PSG won the French league for the third time in succession after a 2-1 victory at Montpellier on Saturday, adding to their success in the Trophee des Champions in August and last month's 4-0 triumph over Bastia in the Coupe de la Ligue.

Laurent Blanc could yet clinch a fourth domestic trophy this season as they play Auxerre in the Coupe de France final at the end of this month, but Al Khelaifi has set his sights beyond domestic domination.

"It's a great night for us," he said on his club's official website. "It's a third trophy this season after the Trophee des Champions and the Coupe de la Ligue, and now we will try and win the Coupe de France.

"Everyone worked hard to win this Ligue 1 championship. I would also like to thank our supporters who came in such numbers this evening. Our project is continuing to grow.

"I have confidence in the future and I hope we will win the Champions League. That's what we are working towards."

PSG reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season, losing out to Barcelona after having eliminated Chelsea in the round of 16.
