Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc threatens to use reserves

Laurent Blanc warned that he could play Paris Saint-Germain's reserve team in Saturday's Coupe de la Ligue final with the French champions facing a hectic month of April.

Blanc, 49, saw a first-choice XI beat Saint-Etienne 4-1 in Wednesday's Coupe de France semifinal, thanks in large part to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat trick, to remain on course for a quadruple this season.

The match was the second of eight PSG will play in 23 days this month, and with next week's Champions League quarterfinal first leg with Barcelona looming, the PSG boss said, seemingly seriously, that the club's second-string side -- who play feature in the CFA division, the fourth tier of French football -- may face Bastia at the Stade de France this weekend.

"I waited to see this evening's result before talking about it, but it's not impossible that we line up our CFA team," Blanc told a stunned press conference at the Parc des Princes. "We can think about it. I am thinking about it. You'll see."
