Ancelotti to decide PSG future

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has confirmed coach Carlo Ancelotti's future at the club "is in his hands", although the club is hopeful of securing the Italian's services.

Speculation linking Real Madrid Jose Mourinho with the PSG post has created uncertainty about Ancelotti's role in Paris, despite the capital club heading towards their first domestic title in 19 years.

But Leonardo has essentially quashed the rumours of PSG replacing Ancelotti, insisting their current manager is wanted at the Parc des Princes.

"Ancelotti? We hope he stays and his future is in his hands," Leonardo told Sky Italia. "It's up to him to decide if he wants to stay here or not."

Leonardo also moved to play down rumours suggesting Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi could leave PSG in the summer.

"Ibrahimovic and Lavezzi will also stay at PSG, 100 per cent. They will definitely stay here because they are a big part of the future of PSG," he said. "Ibra will stay here, and Lavezzi will stay here. These things are very clear therefore there's no problem.

"I believe PSG have been very strong in the transfer market in the last few years so it's normal that people talk about what happens here."

Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has been tipped as a summer recruit for PSG, although Leonardo insists there have been no negotiations to recruit the Uruguayan.

"There has not been any contact with Cavani," he said. "Today I'm not thinking about the transfer market, we have to finish the season. We are in a privileged position but we have to see it through.

"There are still five games to go and we are nine points ahead and so that's our priority. I repeat, there is nothing between Cavani and us, there has not been any contact."
