Orlando City SC decline options on Tally Hall, Corey Ashe, others

Orlando City SC have declined contract options on a number of players, the club announced on Wednesday.

Goalkeepers Tally Hall and Josh Ford, defender Corey Ashe, midfielders Eric Avila and Lewis Neal and forwards Danny Mwanga, Adam Bedell and Sidney Rivera did not have their options picked up by the expansion franchise. Tony Cascio's contract was allowed to expire.

But goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr., defenders Luke Boden and Sebastian Hines, midfielders Servando Carrasco, Darwin Ceren, Kevin Molino, Harrison Heath and Adrian Winter, and forward Pedro Ribeiro saw the team exercise their contract options.

"We'd like to thank these terrific players for their significant contributions to the club's historic first Major League Soccer season," Armando Carneiro, the franchise's chief soccer officer, said of the departing players.

"We wish them the best of luck in their careers moving forward."

Of the departing players, Avila and Ashe are eligible to become free agents, while Cascio, Ford, Hall, Mwanga and Neal qualify for the MLS re-entry draft process.

Orlando City SC finished their inaugural season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 44 points, winning 12 of their 34 games, five points off a playoff spot.
