Norwich manager Chris Hughton has refused to guarantee new signings in the January transfer window, claiming he will only move if it right for the club.
The Canaries have been linked with Leeds striker Luciano Becchio, Brighton's Craig Mackail-Smith and Swansea forward Danny Graham but after a ten-game unbeaten Premier League run Hughton is in no hurry to change the balance of his squad.
“I don’t expect to be busy. We are, as most clubs will try to do, looking to strengthen the squad” he said. “If there are players there we will endeavour to do that but I don’t envisage massive changes.”
Hughton is cautious not only of the danger of adding new faces to a settled squad but also of the lack of value available in the transfer market in January.
“It is difficult because it is not a good time to bring in players,” he added. “Last January we brought in a couple, but we will continue to try working. January is notoriously not a great time to bring in players. You have to make sure they are the right players at the right price and value which is why at this moment not a lot of business has been done.”
