Norwegian TV show experiments with bird's-eye view football

When it comes to pioneering football experiments, the diligent team on Norwegian television show "Golden Goal" have broken more ground in that particular field than most.

Having already dabbled with bubble football and electric shock football, "Golden Goal" has tried to answer that age-old quandary: Could a team of 22 amateur players (including two keepers) beat a team of 11 professionals?

The answer, for the record, was a resounding no.

Ball boy hit in the face by ball in Norway

Being a ball boy can be quite fun. You get up close to your favourite team; you get to feel like part of the action. But sometimes, you can get too close to it.

In Norway last weekend, Start's 3-1 victory over Tromso saw Gjermund Asen cut inside and shoot. His effort missed the goal, but smacked a poor unsuspecting ball boy right in the face. Hopefully he's fine now, but it just goes to show you that you always have to keep your eye on the ball.

Jeremy Berthod last played in France with Auxerre in 2012 before moving to Norway.

Four-time Ligue 1 winner Jeremy Berthod has announced his retirement from football at the age of 30.

The former Lyon and Monaco left-back won the French championship four times with Les Gones between 2004 and 2007, and he recently completed a second season with Norwegian club Sarpsborg.

After leading the Colorado Rapids in scoring in his first two MLS seasons, Jamaican striker Deshorn Brown will transfer to Valerenga IF in Norway's Tippeligaen, according to multiple sources.
