Nigeria's representatives in the 2018 CAF competitions return to domestic action in midweek after a weekend of continental duty as the quartet have a chance to make up for lost ground in the NPFL.

Akwa United have their work cut out as they look to avoid a second successive away defeat in a space of four days away at Rivers United.

The Promise Keepers were beaten in their CAF Confederation Cup playoff first le by Al-Hilal in Sudan, and considering the possibility of fatigue, they face the daunting task away at a side they have failed to beat in five successive meetings.

United are holding onto third place due to their superior goal difference, but have three games in hand as they look to close the gap on the league leaders. However, Akwa will need to be at their best to halt their poor record against Rivers.

A confident Enyimba side travel to Ilorin to take on a resurgent Kwara United in what should be an exciting game.

The People's Elephant have found some consistency on the road this season, although they still await a first away win of the campaign.

The appointment of coach Abubakar Bala at rock-bottom Kwara United is gradually bearing fruit, with the new coach having taken five points from his first three games, including an upset at home against Kano Pillars.

A heart-warming home win for Kwara United takes them off the bottom of the log, although they may fancy their chances of pulling off an unlikely upset against an Enyimba side oozing class and brimming with confidence.

Enugu Rangers have every reason to be in confident mood ahead of a home clash against MFM FC.

The Flying Antelopes have kept clean sheets in their last two home games, and their run could be set to improve against MFM, who haven't scored a league goal or earned a point in two previous visits to Enugu.

If Rangers manage to clinch all three points, it guarantees a return back to the top four, while for a crestfallen MFM side, who are in dire need of inspiration following a home defeat on the continent at the weekend, it could further extend their pointless run on the road this season.
