Moroccan Botola league club Wydad Casablanca have rejected a transfer request from Nigerian import, Chisom Chikatara.

The forward who was the star of the Nigerian team at the 2016 CHAN in Rwanda, where he netted four goals in three games for the home based Eagles, joined Wydad at the conclusion of the tournament from Abia Warriors for a fee believed to be in the region of $450,000.

Chikatara immediately settled into the team, getting registered for both league and CAF Champions League assignments, lighting up both tournaments with goals.

However, his fortunes changed following an injury he sustained -- which he has since recovered from and the departure of legendary Welsh coach, John Toshack, the manager who signed him.

Despite returning to full fitness, the forward hasn't gotten much game time at the club and this has forced his representatives to voice out their concern.

"We have a transfer request for Chikatara to quick Wydad Casablanca, but they turned it down," the players representative Johnny Precious Ogbah informed scorenigeria.com.ng

"There are still a lot of interests in the player, who needs to be playing regularly to move to the next level of his career."
