Nice midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa out 4-5 weeks with hamstring injury

Ligue 1 side Nice have confirmed that star Hatem Ben Arfa has suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out for four to five weeks.

"The France international suffered a muscle injury this past weekend during the second half of the Monaco derby," the statement said. "He left the Stade Louis II in the 81st minute and medical exams at the beginning of this week have revealed an injury to the hamstring of his right leg. He is expected to miss between four and five weeks."

Ben Arfa, 28, spent the second half of last season without a team but had since earned a recall to the France squad after an excellent campaign with Nice prior to this injury. This week, he was rumoured to be a summer transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Hull and Newcastle player has scored 11 league goals to lift Claude Puel's side to third in the table. Ten-man Monaco beat Nice, 1-0, over the weekend.
