Sergio Canales has declared his intention to stay in Spain following speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.
Everton, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers are all reported to have expressed an interest in the midfielder, but Canales, 20, has revealed his reluctance to agree to any such move:
"I would prefer to stay in Spain," Canales said to As. "I want to get as many minutes as possible and if it isn't at Real Madrid it will be with another club."
Despite impressing for Racing Santander prior to his move to the Bernabeu, Canales played just ten games under Jose Mourinho last season. Both Villarreal and Sevilla are believed to be interested in loaning the talented Spaniard but Real are thought to be reluctant to allow him to move to one of their rivals.
