Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes says he did not expect his side to 4-0 win at Metalist Kharkiv on Thursday night.
Leverkusen took a giant leap towards the last 16 of the Europa League with an emphatic victory in sub-zero temperatures in the Ukraine.
"Such a big win was not expected,'' Heynckes said. "But we were better, more clever and more effective.''
Leverkusen director of sport Rudi Voller says his side can now plan for a clash with either Napoli or Villarreal after the result.
"Nothing should happen now - we are through,'' he told the Rheinische Post newspaper. "I was impressed with how the team did not let the frosty conditions get to them.
"When you win 4-0 away from home, then you have got to be impressed. Our opponents made it no contest. We were very impressive and the goals were created and scored really well.''
