Germany coach Loew braced for withdrawals

September 4, 2007

Joachim Loew will be fearing another wave of withdrawals from his Germany squad after Serdar Tasci and Gerald Asamoah dropped out of his squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Wales and Romania.

Stuttgart defender Tasci has an adductor problem and Loew has now called up Real Betis winger David Odonkor. No new name has been added to the squad in place of Asamoah, who has been hit by food poisoning.

The Schalke striker was only meant to take part in today's fitness tests in Cologne while Odonkor will now be sticking around with the squad for the trip to Wales and the clash with Romania four days later.
