Lazio join the race for unsettled striker Adriano

Lazio have joined the race to sign Brazilian striker Adriano from Inter Milan.

The 25-year-old is a target of several Barclays Premier League clubs including West Ham and Manchester City, while Inter have also reportedly offered the player's services to Arsenal.

'Adriano is an important player,' said Lazio coach Delio Rossi. 'I wish he would come to Lazio. But, if he comes, he should come with the right spirit.'

Adriano has struggled to make an impact at Inter in the last two campaigns and the arrival of Honduran striker David Suazo this summer has left the Brazil international out of Roberto Mancini's plans.
