Cotterill brings in defender Foster

June 22, 2006

Burnley have signed Crewe defender Stephen Foster on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old centre-back has snubbed a new deal from the Alex, who were relegated to League One, and also held talks with Barnsley.

Meanwhile Crewe defender Chris McCready has turned down the offer of a new deal and has left the club.

The 24-year-old made his Alex debut in 2000 although he struggled with a number of injuries in the following season.
