Vardy, 25, joins the Foxes on a three-year contract having scored 34-goals this season to fire Fleetwood Town to the Conference title this season, becoming the most expensive purchase from a non-league club.

Vardy is the third new player to arrive at the King Power Stadium this week, following the arrivals of Manchester United duo Ritchie De Laet and Matty James as the Foxes look to regroup after a disappointing season.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson told the club's official website: "There were a number of clubs vying to secure Jamie's signature, so it's very pleasing that we have been able to bring him to Leicester.

"He will definitely help to take us forward. He has built an excellent reputation for himself through the goals he has scored at non-league level and I have no doubt he will successfully make the step up to the Championship.''

Vardy made his senior debut for Stocksbridge in 2007 before joining Halifax three years later. He strengthened his reputation with 27 goals that season before joining Fleetwood.
