Oliver Bozanic netted the only goal of the game, the midfielder's shot in the eighth minute deflecting off Rhyan Grant and past keeper Liam Reddy after Bernie Ibini had dummied Pedj Bojic's cross.

The victory extended the Mariners' unbeaten run to 12 games and increased their cushion to eight points after Melbourne Heart were held to a 1-1 draw at bottom side Gold Coast United.

Kristian Sarkies gave Heart the lead with eight minutes gone at Skilled Park when his deflected free-kick found the back of the net. Gold Coast, though, levelled with 18 minutes to go when Maceo Rigters backheeled Kristian Rees' shot beyond custodian Clint Bolton.

Finally, Josh Mitchell's injury-time goal saw Perth Glory edge out Wellington Phoenix 1-0 at Westpac Stadium. Mitchell headed home Andrezinho's free-kick deep into stoppage time to grab the points for the visitors.
