Fabio Capello has no plans to start Danny Welbeck for England's decisive Euro 2012 qualifier in Montenegro.

Welbeck, yet to make his competitive debut for England, has been tipped in some quarters to resume his partnership with Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney on Friday after scoring five goals in all competitions this season.

However, ESPNsoccernet understands that, while he is rated highly within the England camp, Capello is only considering Welbeck for the substitutes' bench and that Bobby Zamora and Darren Bent are fighting it out for the chance to start alongside Rooney.

Fulham forward Zamora, who has scored three Premier League goals and two in the Europa League this season, earned his first England cap in a friendly last summer and Capello believes he can play an important role for the national team. An England insider told ESPNsoccernet: "Bobby Zamora is not just a tall striker - he is quite good at holding the ball, keeping the ball, and he can also deliver a good pass. Bobby Zamora is most definitely under consideration along with Darren Bent."

Aston Villa's Bent has two Premier League goals to his name in the current campaign and has so far struggled to find his best form under Alex McLeish, but Capello has yet to make his choice. England had a light training session on Tuesday and an 11-a-side workout on Wednesday, which gave Capello much more of an insight into his team selection before flying out to Montenegro on Thursday.

Capello continues to study DVDs of the opposition as he seeks to resolve selection issues at right back, right wing and in attack.

A draw in Podgorica would be sufficient to see England qualify for Euro 2012.
