West Ham United have denied reports that a rival Premier League club triggered a release clause in Mohamed Diame's contract on deadline day.

Diame has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham in recent weeks, and speculation mounted that the 25-year-old was set to leave Upton Park on Thursday after a £3.5 million bid was received by the Hammers.

However, Jack Sullivan - son of West Ham co-owner David - later revealed via Twitter that no such offer had been made.

"Contrary to reports there has been no bid for Diame today from anybody," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, The Sun newspaper reports Diame's future remains uncertain as West Ham continue to stall over his £80,000 a week wage demands.
