Muller, 23, has put pen to paper on a two-year extension that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2017.

The Germany international first wore the Bayern jersey at the age of 11, when he made the move from his hometown club TSV Pahl.

He debuted for the club in August 2008 and broke into the first team the season after. Since the 2009-10 campaign he has only missed one Bundesliga match for Bayern - against Wolfsburg this season.

In 25 competitive games this season Muller has scored 13 goals and set up eight. Muller has won 38 caps for Germany, scoring 10 goals. He shared the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"Thomas Muller is a home-grown talent. He was trained here and has developed into a very important player for FC Bayern," Bayern director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

"We are happy that we were able to prolong the 2015 contract for another two years until 2017. That is proof of what FC Bayern is for Thomas Muller."
