Arsenal legend Thierry Henry will rejoin the club next month, with his third debut in a red Gunners shirt set to come in the FA Cup third round tie against Swansea on January 6.

Henry was an enthusiastic supporter in the Emirates Stadium crowd as Arsenal got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, with widespread reports now suggesting he will be back on the Gunners team sheet in less than a month.

Henry's New York Red Bulls employers were said to be reluctant to sanction the loan deal that will see Arsenal's all-time record goal scorer return to the club he loves more than any other, but it seems as if a deal is close to being struck.

There is even a suggestion that Arsenal are pushing to secure Henry's services for the rest of the Premier League season, yet Red Bulls chiefs are thought to be unlikely to rubber stamp a deal that will see one of the league's marquee names miss the opening two months of MLS action.

Henry has been training with Arsenal in recent weeks and Wenger has done little to dampen down suggestions that he is keen to resign one of the greatest heroes of his historic reign as Arsenal boss.

The imminent departure of Gervinho to the African Cup of Nations is being cited as one of the primary reasons why Wenger is adding Henry to his roster once again, but with Marouane Chamakh almost certain to leave Arsenal in January, extra striking options are required for the Gunners.

Henry's return will not halt Wenger's bid to sign Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, with sources in France suggesting a cut-price deal to bring the soon to be out-of-contract Dutch striker to Arsenal is close to completion.
