Everton striker Kevin Mirallas is likely to return to action within 10 days after scans revealed a hamstring injury was not as bad as first feared.

Mirallas, 25, was forced off during last Saturday's 2-1 Premier League victory over Sunderland, and there were concerns that he could be out for around a month.

He had to pull out of Belgium's friendly against Romania on Wednesday, and is also likely to miss Saturday's Premier League trip to Reading.

But after receiving the results of scans on the injury, Everton manager David Moyes is hopeful that the forward will be ready to face Norwich on November 24.

Mirallas, signed from Olympiakos for £5.3 million in August, has scored once in 10 league appearances for Everton.

He recently declared that his target was to finish the season in double figures, saying: "I think at the moment I have more assists than I have goals.

"I've provided one or two decent passes for my colleagues to score, but at the same time I'm hoping to continue to improve in front of goal and I think 10 goals is a reasonable target for my first season."
