Mathieu Debuchy hints at PSG move

PSG head coach Laurent Blanc believes the club are seeing the best of striker Zlatan Ibrahimović this season.

Newcastle United's Mathieu Debuchy has opened the door to a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, admitting to TF1 that he "would really like to go there during my career."

Mathieu Debuchy endured a difficult start to his Newcastle career
Mathieu Debuchy says he will make a decision on his club future after this summer's World Cup.

• Johnson: PSG extend lead
• Ryder: Saints maul Magpies

Debuchy, 28, signed a five-and-a-half year deal with the Magpies when he moved from Lille in January 2013.

However, even before seeing his friend and former Newcastle teammate Yohan Cabaye move to PSG in January, the France international full-back had reportedly been in the sights of the Ligue 1 champions.

"I'm still under contract with Newcastle," he said. "We'll see after the World Cup, but you never know what life is going to bring. PSG is a huge club. I would like to go there during my career, but we're not at that stage yet."

Debuchy has made 25 league appearances for the Magpies this season, and has impressed as his side lie ninth in the table after 32 games.

PSG, meanwhile, top Ligue 1 and face Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday evening.
