Johan Cruyff: Netherlands' football 'hurts the eyes'

Netherlands legend Johan Cruyff has said major changes need to be swiftly made to his nation's football setup to turn their fortunes around.

Netherlands are in danger of not qualifying for Euro 2016, with Guus Hiddink's side third in their qualifying group, six points behind leaders Czech Republic after five matches played.

Former Barcelona and Ajax forward Cruyff is concerned about the direction of the Dutch team, despite a third-place finish at last summer's World Cup in Brazil under then-manager Louis van Gaal.

"There have to be changes and fast because this football hurts the eyes," he wrote in his column for Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf after Netherlands' draw 1-1 with Turkey.

"We don't have anything and I wonder when they will finally sound the alarm."
