Napoli have announced that they will play Barcelona in a preseason friendly on Aug. 6, with the news coming amid speculation that Partenopei striker Gonzalo Higuain is set to move to the Camp Nou.

According to reports, Higuain, 26, will leave for Barca this summer, although Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has said he is not considering the possibility of losing the club's top scorer last season.

De Laurentiis has reportedly placed a 70 million-euro price tag on Higuain, and is adamant that he will line up against Luis Enrique's side rather than for them at the Stade de Geneve in Switzerland.

"We're absolutely delighted to play in Geneva against one of the most prestigious and strongest clubs in the world to warm ourselves up in the best possible way for the new season," De Laurentiis told Napoli's official website.

"Furthermore, Geneva is a perfect place for such a high-quality game, also due to the presence in Switzerland of many Italian fans, many of whom are Neapolitan.

"For these fans, and for sport in general, Napoli can guarantee the maximum effort and to field all of our stars, from Higuain to [Marek] Hamsik, from [Gokhan] Inler to [Lorenzo] Insigne and from [Jose] Callejon to [Dries] Mertens, as well as our new summer signings."

De Laurentiis' Barcelona counterpart Josep Maria Bartomeu said he was also looking forward to the occasion.

"It's going to be an excellent opportunity to bring our first team into top form two weeks before the start of the season," he said.

"The level of our opponents, the quality of the players on the field and the atmosphere in the Stade de Geneve will ensure all the spectators will enjoy a true spectacle."
