Cavani riled by transfer talk

Edinson Cavani has hit out at the widespread rumours suggesting his departure from Napoli is imminent, admitting the media speculation is "bothering" him.

Edinson Cavani apparently has a €63 million release clause
Cavani has been linked with a number of Europe's top clubs

Cavani is expected to leave Naples in the summer, with Manchester City and Real Madrid atop a long list of suitors for the Uruguay international.

The striker recently urged his family to stop talking publicly about his future after his mother revealed Cavani would definitely be leaving Napoli.

The 26-year-old says he is angered by the rumours and preferred to focus on Sunday's Confederations Cup third-place play-off against Italy.

"Your talking at the beginning didn't disturb me but now I have to confess these rumours are bothering me," Cavani told reporters. "You're talking too much about things you shouldn't be talking about now. I'm still engaged in this competition and just thinking about the next game,

"I play in Italy, I know all of them. I was expecting them to play a great tournament, so I must congratulate them. But tomorrow, we want to win. I want to raise my country in the world standings as much as possible."

It is reported Napoli have valued Cavani at €65 million and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis insisted on Friday that there would be no room for negotiation on that figure.
